Using your own domain

Pointing a domain you own at your site, with HTTPS.

Your site always keeps its yourname.sitelyx.co address. A custom domain is added on top.

  1. Open Custom Domain in your admin and enter the domain exactly as you want it (example.com or www.example.com).
  2. At your domain registrar, point the domain at the address shown on that screen — usually a CNAME for www, or A records for the root domain.
  3. Save, then wait. DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to spread.
  4. HTTPS is issued automatically once the domain resolves to us.

While you wait, both addresses work. Once the custom domain is live it becomes the canonical one, so search engines index a single version of each page.
